This is a very interesting pattern. I chose this to use up some stash yarn, especially the beautiful blue variegated Noro Tensan. This turned out even much better than I expect - modern, interesting, and can even wear 4 ways!
Modifications
- Cast on 80 sts for a smaller cowl, using MC-a (yellow)
- For the stripes section, knitted a total of 8 times
- Icelandic bind off
- Created gradient effect by changing mohair:
Because I ran out of the yellow yarn (MC-a) when I’m nearing the end of broken seed stitch section, I was trying to find a similar weight yarn in my stash and I got MC-b by holding two strands together. Then suddenly my inspiration came and I decided to make three additional colours by holding different colours of mohair to achieve the gradient look. It works like wonders and I love this sunset palette I created!! It pairs nicely with the Anjou Vest I knitted with the same CC and MC-e.

Figure 1: Left to right: Broken seed stitch, CC + MC-a (yellow, all used up so no remaining yarn shows here) and partially MC-b (light yellow) /n 1st/2nd stripe: MC-b (light yellow), 3rd/4th stripe: MC-c (yellow-orange), 5th/6th stripes: MC-d (orange), 7th/8th stripes: MC-e (red)
