Kuutar beret

Starting a new project for myself because I’m so F bored after the simple patterns of socks and scarf I’m knitting or knitted for gifts.

The moment I looked at the lace chart, I knew this is the right choice. It is not complicated but requires lots of attention, not something I can knit while watching anime or game videos. It’s worth to note that this is actually my first time holding mohair and wool yarn together (I know there’s a trend for quite a while and I somehow dislike it). I love the touch - it feels so soft!

I also learned a few techniques which I think quite interesting:

  • Circular cast on: knitting version of crochet magic loop
  • Wrap 5 : create an interesting yarn-wrapped stitch bundle. Here is how to do it: With yarn in back, slip next 5 sts from left needle to right needle, bring yarn to front and slip the sts back to the left needle. Bring yarn to back and slip the sts again to the right needle. Repeat the wrap another 2 times. Give the yarn a little tug to tighten it around the base of the wrapped sts, and continue knitting as established. (Note: the 5 stitches will only be slipped back and forth and not knitted on this round)
