Johanne cardigan
- It’s going slow, but better than I thought! I also get hang of flicking purl: my index finger now has better motion control so that it doesn’t drop yarn so often. My purl also gets a lot faster compared to when I started the project
- The fit looks extremely well on me! I have a feeling that this might become one of my favourite and practical knitwear and I’m super excited about the result. I think I made the wise decision to not to pick the no frills cardigan because I’m not a fan of the raglan line.
- 7g left for the current skein. Let’s how much it can take. I think 400g is definitely enough, but I’m not sure if I should extend the length. Given the fact that I’m pretty short, it might not be the most flattering option.
Pretty harbour
- So this one is for my mom, and I’ll knit another pair of rib socks for my dad.
- Having a hard time for the heel. Actually, I forgot it’s a toe-up and started heel flap, 10 rows after I then my mistake = =.
- My mom’s foot is shorter than me (appx. 36 in EUR size) so I have to adjust the foot length.
- I stopped at appx. 16cm from toe to foot, and started Fish Lip Kiss heel. Not that I particularly like FLK heel - I’m not a fan of the look, but it’s easy and I have my previous sock to compare and match. I did some research on gusset increase and heel flap on toe-up, but it looks unnecessarily complicated, and I’m rushing to finish all these gift project and just want something simple. I really want to try sweet tomato heel in my next pair socks though!
No purl and simple aran scarf
- I’m knitting a scarf for a frend and I’m struggling to pick a suitable pattern. Scarf is boring and takes a long time to knit, yes, but this seems the only feasible option because there aren’t lots of unisex/manly cowl pattern and I think scarf is the more classic option.
- Anyways, I initially chose Simple Aran scarf because it looks quite elegant. I browsed through all FOs and found the mods I need as I’ll be using a heavier yarn (Worsted Cascade 220 Superwash), and I even knitted two swatches with different options of slipping stitches to create a neat selvage edge.
- However, after consideration and flipping through my library, I decided to go with Purl Soho’s No Purl Scarf for two reasons. One, I don’t want to spend an insanely amount of time for a scarf; two, the simple rib scarf looks minimallistic, classic. I was a bit worried it would look “too simple” from non-knitter’s perspective, but thanks to GPT my concerns were lifted. So, time to buy more yarn!
