Whale Socks

• I’m working on the 2nd version of the whale socks. Yesterday, I made the first version and unravelled it just after the heel. before the heel starts. There are few issues I noticed:
  • The first part of the colourwork was not as smooth as I want. The leg part looks like it’s being cutting off and not aesthetic when wearing it. I could have just simply remove the first part of the chart, but it would make the whale positioned differently. In order to keep the whale in the current position, making it looks like it’s swimming on the sea, I filled some mountain motif at the top.
  • While the sweet tomato heel is easy enough to knit and remember, it didn’t go well with this self-striping yarn. I think it would be a better option for a contrast heel.
• After unravelling the first version, I re-designed the chart and decide to knit the heel with the traditional heel flap.
